I’ve been absent way way way way way way too long, but, I gotta tell ya…..it’s been an amazing time. Mainly to do with work and this thing called a wedding. And it’s not just the wedding itself - it’s the build-up to it. Talking, Planning, Dreaming……..it’s great stuff. Then people start to arrive, first the bride and groom to be, then more, and more. It’s like some sort of reservoir of love filling up with golden energy to see this thing to its completion, to its beginning really.
I got my first suit, ever. It’s awesome. It fits for one. It’s sleak as hell. And I’m stylin in it. Pin stripes, navy cloth, soft, accentuating…….. We forget that men have figures too. Really, I mean think about it. Men aren’t just a block of meat and muscle, no - destroy that thought please. Please! Men are so much more, don’t listen to the yahoos who proclaim we are overrun, we are adrift…….it’s such bullshit, and insulting. This is the magical time, and it scares the hell out of some people.
We are mixing and melding like never before. We are daring to step out of our tribal zones, are racial groups, and hopefully once and for all these ridiculous national cages we’ve constructed for ourselves and our ever loving posterity. Oh and let’s not forget the religious ones. Yeah. It’s really, hmmm……..it’s actually a lot like a good wedding, where we decide to put aside the business and headaches of the day, make a pact, take a journey, meet up. From all over the place - east coast, west coast, north, south - we all gather together in one place, as one people, one family, to celebrate the goodness in life, in all life, and especially in the budding futures of two young people who still have that shine in their eyes, that energy, to improve their lot, to raise up those around them, to quite simply leave the world a better place than when they entered.
So if you were there, at the wedding, you know what I mean. And honestly - you know what I mean anyway. Let’s hold onto that side of things, quit the yelling, and get along. Tolerance is not enough - we need Understanding, and Acceptance. And ultimately, Love.
