So here it is - my very first blog post. I'm so excited I can barely type.
First let me say thank you for coming this far - it means a lot to me. They say the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. For me that first step happened a very long time ago, really before I was fully a person. I was probably 3 or 4 years old, and I was already drawn to the piano. My father would sit on this rickety piano stool which one adjusted up and down by turning the seat (he has it still to this day). He loved playing Beethoven and Schubert and of course Mozart. There was a piece I would dance around to by Wolfgang Amadeus, but the piece that really put the hook in me was the first piano sonata by Ludwig Van. There is this section in the first movement which, to me, was the sound of the piano crying. The chord progressions are masterful, and for years I would learn all I could about all the many ways of stacking chords one after the other to create a tapestry of sound. I'm proud to say that most of my music is rich in various progressions, some of which defy explanation. So that first step led to many others until here I am today. Perhaps in future posts I'll talk a little bit more about some of the intervening steps. For now I'll close by saying how excited I am to be here, in this place, talking with you, and at the possibilities stretching before me for future works that I hope very much to share with all of you in the coming months and years, so stay tuned!
Please click the Music tab in order to explore some of my works posted in various places. There is a Gallery of pictures - a weird collection of drawings and designs (all mine) with a few pictures of me. I plan to expand the site over time with some nice surprises
